Inkcups Now Celebrates 10 Years!

ICN celebrates 10 years!

ICN celebrates 10 years!

With everyone turning the corner into the new year, Inkcups Now celebrates a very special one! 2011 marks the 10 year anniversary of the company and it’s impact on the printing industry.

Marking such a special occasion, Inkcups Now did what it does best, PARTY! Everyone in the company was in attendence including all of the sales people from across the country…and beyond!

The event was held at the Lyceum in Salem, Massachusetts. Not only was this a beautiful venue, but it also held sentimental value for the company’s founder and president Ben Adner. The Lyceum was a regular meeting place for Ben and current vice president Mike Bissel. They would meet once a month

and talk about the industry. This is where Ben eventually offered Mike a Job to join the Inkcups Now bus.

Starting with 1 employee and only selling ink cups to over 20 employees 10 years later (and still expanding.) Inkcups Now sells a wide array of products and has gone great lengths in proving itself as a leader in the pad and screen printing industry, most notably introducing tagless printing to the apparel industry.

New Tagless Printing Video: Pad Printing Machines in a Factory

September 28th, 2010 | Author: Stephen
Here is a great new tagless printing video from Inkcups Now!

This video showcases the ICN-B100 pad printing machines. Many times people have seen pictures of pad printers, even diagrams that show how to pad print. We figured that while those were somewhat informative, we would show you how these machines are used to make apparel labels in an actual factory setting.

In this manufacturing facility, these employees are printing tagless t-shirt labels. As you can see the speed in which the worker places and removes the t shirt is remarkable and really shows off the capability of the ICN-B100. The speed of the machine can be adjusted to suit the worker’s needs. The shirts are not fully sewn together for easier access to the neck labels.

The tagless t shirt label dries instantaneously to the touch. Notice the worker simply removing the printed t shirt and stacking it on top of the other printed shirts. At this rate the employee can print about 20 shirts per minute!

This particular company just removed all of their heat transfer machines to make way for the ICN-B100 pad printer. Please note that there was nothing wrong with their heat transfer machines, this company just did the math and realized that tagless labels are the more cost effective method.

What do you think? Have you tried both pad printing and heat transfer? Which one do you prefer?

Multi Color Tagless Printing

Make that tagless apparel look even better and add depth to an otherwise plain object by adding multiple colors!

This tagless printing video shows the basic principle of multi color printing with the ICN-2500 pad printing machine. The printer uses 3 pads to add more color to tagless garments. Once the ink cups are filled with ink, each pad will be dipping into a different colored ink with only one part of the overall design. You see the pads pressed onto the fixture, where you would position the garment, in order to complete the desired multi-colored design.

The ICN-2500 tagless pad printing machine offers a wide variety of features that allows the user to print the highest quality images with the greatest of ease.

Designed for rapid job setup, the ICN-2500 contains a programmable shuttle table and quick-release locking handles on pad and cup assemblies. Multi color tagless printing is just as fast and easy as using a single colored image!

Type: Semi-Automatic Pad Printer

Shapewear is a new trend hitting the apparel industry. Shapewear comes in many forms, it is mostly referred to as underwear/undergarments. Lingerie is also a form of shapewear. With all of these tight fitting clothes, it makes perfect sense to print tagless labels using the ICN-2200 pad printing machine.

Tagless printing on shapewear has many benefits such as:
• No cracking on the label
• No annoying bump where the tag lies
• No Ribbon labels (those annoying labels usually located on the side of the inside of clothes)
• No grin through (reduces visibility on the outside of the clothing where the tag is)

You can always look great and feel comfortable at the same time, especially with tagless printing!

Tagless Label Printing on Flock Materials

Tagless label on Flock material (Click to Expand)

This ICN tagless label is printed on a flock material, which is used for all kinds of apparel like daywear, outerwear and activewear, and is much like fleece to the touch.

Due to its “fuzzy” texture, the flock material definitely posed a challenge for printing a tagless label, but by using the good old “Trial and Error” approach our pad printing specialists managed to quickly find a solution to the problem :)

We found that they key to successful printing on difficult garments , such as flock material, is by controlling these variables:

• Depth of printing plate
• Speed of the thinner
• Printing pad durometer
• Machine cycle

We used our ICN-150 tagless label printing machine and the tagless pad printing ink was from the SB series, mixed with 20% of M Thinner.
