Digital Applications Specialist

To strengthen our European team, we are looking for a Digital Applications Specialist.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate Inkcups’ market leading cylindrical and flatbed printing solutions to prospects and customer in-person and online.
  • Manage and process print samples for prospects and customers across Inkcups Europe’s sales territory.
  • Detailed description
    • Artwork prep
    • Properly recording incoming sample requests
    • Organizing all corresponding details for each incoming sample requests
    • Regular communication with sales and customer, deciphering when appropriate to contact customer directly while keeping sales included
    • Organize and execute video conferencing and conference calls to gather more detail and information prior to embarking on a portion sample requests that require such activity
    • Practice consistent processes for virtual demos, follow work instructions so all demos are presented in the same way each time
    • Supervision of proper demo preparation for the department, both virtual and live demos, on all equipment
    • Execution of key machine demos, both virtual and live on all equipment
    • Prepare tradeshow samples as defined by Sales Support Manager
    • Maintain an inventory of general sample kits
    • Printing, processing, and shipping sample requests
    • Quality control of all outbound sample requests
    • Discarding dated and/or completed samples
    • Maintaining an organized data base and pending sample rack, monitor and maintain the system in place for storing samples.
    • Conduct regular preventive maintenance routines on demo equipment to ensure machine availability when needed.
    • Carry out repairs on demo equipment as issues arise.
    • Carry out sample pre-treatment work (priming, flaming) to ensure adhesion and durability with new substrates.
    • Monitor and document sample generation lead times.
    • As you learn, gradually collect information and pictures that will support an Application Best Practices document which can help other demo sites and end users get the best results.
    • Maintain cleanliness if working areas – ie: sample lab, warehouse bays, personal desk, sample shelving and in showroom.
    • Responsible for collecting monthly applications (should be the best ones, and unique) and share with marketing for any company wide publications.
    • Application based support to customers.

Qualifications:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in graphic design preferred.
  • 2+ years’ experience working as a Prepress Operator or Applications Engineer
  • Proficient in prepress software such as Adobe Create Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) for file preparation and colour management.
  • 2+ years’ experience using colour profiling, colour correction and colour calibration in a work environment.
  • Experience with print production workflow systems and knowledge of colour management principles in the printing industry +++
  • Familiarity with different print technologies, substrates, and finishing techniques.
  • Prior experience working for a Screen Printing or Inkjet Printing company +++
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in German and English
    • Other European languages a plus
  • Must be able to demonstrate good attention to detail, good judgment showing logical decision making, and a hands-on approach
  • Confident self-starter, with the ability to operate in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills
  • Perform other related duties and projects, as required
  • Minimal travel will be required for this position
  • Overtime is intended to be limited for this position, but as workload increases the department may require overtime; all overtime is to be approved by the line manager
