Machine Staging & Field Service Engineer Europe

To strengthen our European service team, we are looking for a Machine Staging & Field Service Engineer Europe with German and English language skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inspect machines received from the contract manufacturer according to the checklist and complete all inspection documentation.
  • Collect the hardware based on customer order details and document all inventory pulls. Track serial number parts for each machine to ensure configuration accuracy and precise inventory reporting.
  • Add any required hardware (PC boards, inkjet heads, optional hardware), customer-specific ink, and load software onto the system PC as directed.
  • Install and verify the fit and function of the tooling before powering up the system.
  • Complete the machine startup process, including performing system alignments with vellum on the calibration cylinders.
  • Ensure that all customer printing requirements are met.
  • Provide backup support in the warehouse when needed by picking and packing orders, assisting with inventory cycle counts, and helping ensure regularly ordered products are kept in stock.
  • Provide back up support to team by responding to customer inquiries via phone and email regarding products and creating quotes and orders for parts and technical services in Syteline.
  • Maintain a closed-loop communication with the Service team to document and address any installation defects at the customer site, ensuring quality control either by Inkcups or our contract manufacturers.
  • Perform installations and repairs of digital inkjet equipment at customer sites
  • Provide training to customers on proper operation and maintenance of equipment, digital file preparation, and RIP processing
  • Remote customer support and troubleshooting, as well as on-site service as needed
  • Effectively communicate and obtain appropriate data needed to identify, analyze, and resolve service requirements
  • Clearly communicate problem solutions through database entries, written reports and verbal communication with customers and colleagues
  • Maintaining of demonstration and test facilities Inkcups Europe’s offices
  • Imaging of printed samples for customers and marketing
  • Participation at trade shows to set up and demonstrate equipment
  • Travel to include, but not to be limited to the territory of the remote technician
  • Thorough reports to be completed in timely manner

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree or equivalent vocational training in a related field
  • Basic Graphic Arts skills with working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience in servicing inkjet printing or similar equipment in a print production environment
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Should possess strong collaborative abilities, to not only obtain assistance form colleagues but also provide support when needed
  • Must have good color vision and attention to detail
  • Strong aptitude for customer relations and communication skills
  • Desire to travel
  • A valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
  • A valid passport
  • Must be able to speak and write in German and English
  • Knowledge of RIP and Workflow processing would be a bonus
