PN Series Pad Printing Ink
PN Series pad printing ink is Inkcups’ 2-component pad printing ink for untreated polypropylene. It is formulated to bond directly to PP surfaces without pre-treatment and offers excellent adhesion on most polypropylene-based substrates. The purer the substrate, the greater the adhesion without requiring pre-treatment. Additional applications include treated polypropylene, treated polyester, metal (do preventive tests), lacquered surfaces, and polyurethane.
As a 2-component ink (with the addition of hardener), the PN series offers exceptional abrasion resistance and extended pot life of 8-9 hours, easily lasting a full production shift before reformulating. The PN Series Ink is classified as NT (non-toxic) and is formulated with pigments which are free from heavy metals. Safety Data Sheets are available according to EU regulations. Main indications are carried on the product label.
PN Series pad printing ink is available in 22 standard, 11 high density, 5 metallic, and CMYK 4-color process shades. See our standard PN Color Chart below under Resources. PN ink pairs with Inkcups’ pad printing solvents to adjust viscosity for ink transfer and can also run as a 1-component ink without hardener for standard, lower-abrasion applications. Inkcups also offers custom color matching services for all equipment and inks.

Does PN Series Ink Require Pre-Treatment?
No pre-treatment is required on pure, untreated polypropylene; the purer the substrate, the stronger the adhesion PN pad printing ink achieves on its own. Treated polypropylene, treated polyester, metal, lacquered surfaces, and polyurethane are also compatible, though preventive adhesion testing is recommended on metal substrates.
