Inkcups Now is a company of many services, one of which is creating a custom part fixture for pad printing. Our engineers can create a fixture based upon a customer’s specifications or, as in this instance, create one from molding the part. ICN’s custom molds are intended to fit your part flawlessly in order to prevent it from moving while printing.

Not only does Inkcups Now create mold style fixtures, our engineers can also create metal or acrylic fixtures that are 100% unique to your parts specifications. Fixtures are also available for screen printing and inkjet printing along with pad printing. Fixtures are a great way to ensure flawless print registration on each part consistently. Fixtures allow for faster loading and unloading of parts and potentially maximize the amount of parts per fixture.

Stainless Steel Bottle (Click to Expand)

Who doesn’t love a cup of coffee in an steel bottle…!? :)

We printed this chic Starbucks logo by first using a screen printing machine to create the white background. After that we used the PromoJet cylinder printer to print the remaining black and green colors of the logo.

Technically speaking… the PromoJet doesn’t print in white, but by printing a white background, using a screen printer, we were able to register and print the Starbucks logo in the exact location. This procedure can be used on any dark colored bottle as long as the white imprint is registered to a known location on the bottle.

The rotary inkjet fixture enables the PromoJet to function like as a cylinder printer capable of printing on objects such as stainless steel bottles, flashlights, hockey pucks etc. The fixture is easy to attach and is a great addition to the PromoJet series of Inkjet Printers.

If you want to know more about this cylinder printer, please give us a call at 978-646-8980!

Printer used in this project:
Type: Solvent flatbed inkjet printer
Brand: PromoJET
Model: With Add-on Rotary Fixture
Standard applications: Water bottles, stainless steel bottles, pencils, pens, golf balls, CDs, iPod covers…
Unconventional applications: custom guitar picks, mouse pads, stained glass, plaques…

Dr. Pete’s Ink Tips

Hi! A few tips on using Sapphire inks for screen print process:

• When using Sapphire inks for screen printing, you need a slower thinner than that you use for pad printing and you need it in lesser quantities. You want to add 3-5% of thinner to start and then see if you need more. For instance blue colors will most likely be fine but some red colors will require more thinner. High density colors will always require more thinner.

• Use S3 screen thinner, it will prevent your screen from “locking.”

• To increase ink opacity use the widest mesh appropriate for your artwork.

This is Diamond Etch ink again – the ink that imitates laser engraving or sand blasting. Yesterday Pete – ICN’s Ink Master – printed this logo on a glass jar (see one of the posts above). Today, he experimented with printing on clear plastic. Despite the glare on the photo, you can probably see how nice and crisp it came out. Click on the picture to view a bigger image.
