Stainless Steel Bottle (Click to Expand)

Who doesn’t love a cup of coffee in an steel bottle…!? :)

We printed this chic Starbucks logo by first using a screen printing machine to create the white background. After that we used the PromoJet cylinder printer to print the remaining black and green colors of the logo.

Technically speaking… the PromoJet doesn’t print in white, but by printing a white background, using a screen printer, we were able to register and print the Starbucks logo in the exact location. This procedure can be used on any dark colored bottle as long as the white imprint is registered to a known location on the bottle.

The rotary inkjet fixture enables the PromoJet to function like as a cylinder printer capable of printing on objects such as stainless steel bottles, flashlights, hockey pucks etc. The fixture is easy to attach and is a great addition to the PromoJet series of Inkjet Printers.

If you want to know more about this cylinder printer, please give us a call at 978-646-8980!

At this years’ ICN summer event, the game was definitely ON at the volleyball court! Despite some wind, a few clouds and a “slight” downward slant of the volleyball net, everyone had a blast!

Take a look at this video demonstrating our volleyball skills. We may not be professionals but it’s pretty darn close :)

Tagless label on Flock material (Click to Expand)

This ICN tagless label is printed on a flock material, which is used for all kinds of apparel like daywear, outerwear and activewear, and is much like fleece to the touch.

Due to its “fuzzy” texture, the flock material definitely posed a challenge for printing a tagless label, but by using the good old “Trial and Error” approach our pad printing specialists managed to quickly find a solution to the problem :)

We found that they key to successful printing on difficult garments , such as flock material, is by controlling these variables:

• Depth of printing plate
• Speed of the thinner
• Printing pad durometer
• Machine cycle

We used our ICN-150 tagless label printing machine and the tagless pad printing ink was from the SB series, mixed with 20% of M Thinner.

If you have any questions or need advice about tagless printing and its applications, please give us a call at 978-646-8980!

Inkjet Printed Granite Backsplash

Inkcups Now is expanding: from the Promotional Products Industry – to “Home Improvement”! Who says you can’t design and print your own granite backsplash? When you run out of granite you grab a fine piece of styrene sheet and put the Mimiaki Inkjet printer to work…

If it wasn’t for the thick white granite edge it would be almost impossible to tell which part was printed on. But yes, the vertical piece is the imprinted styrene sheet.

Paul is in the process of renovating his loft, including the countertops.  By taking a picture of the granite he was able transfer it to the Mimaki UJF-605Cll Inkjet System, digitally reproduce the image and print it to the styrene sheet.

Inkjet printed basketball backboard (click to enlarge!)

This crystal clear imprint on this piece of glass (small version of a basketball backboard) was created using the Mimaki UJF-605CII Flatbed Inkjet Printer.

This inkjet printed glass was done in two parts; printing the colored logo first, then overprinting with white in order to make the artwork more opaque. We also printed the solid white stripe as an example of how the lines would look.

Since the impact of the basketball would eventually wear out an imprint we decided to print on the back on the board were the glass gives the impression that the print is on the front.

Before printing, Paul our Mimaki expert, started off by wiping the glass backboard down with our Glass Activator (Specially developed in our ICN Laboratory…) to get extra adhesion to the glass.
