New Canadian Warehouse Opens to Fulfill Growing Demand for ICN's Products
Seasoned expert, Ray Murphy, has spearheaded industry operations in Canada for the past 20 years and has recently been equipped with an all-in-one office/warehouse located in Toronto, Ontario. "We think he has earned his own space up there justified by the sales volume he has added," explains ICN president Ben Adner with a smile, "Ray has really done an outstanding job almost single handedly bring everything ICN stands for to the Canadians: great prices, quality products, and outstanding service."
Since the expansion north of the boarder, Adner has seen Canadian sales of screen and pad printing products grow 60%, which has translated into tremendous success for ICN. “We have a great relationship with all of our customers up here,” says Murphy, “From the beginning, the ICN team has recognized the business opportunity in Canada and taken advantage of it. The decision to build a headquarters in Canada was inevitable, the only question was when. Now that it is done, we have really taken off."
ICN has significantly benefited from the elimination of duty costs to Canadian customers, “Without the office and warehouse up here, we were constantly incurring steep shipping costs with border security requirements. Now, I can ship from the office in Toronto to Calgary as easily as Massachusetts ships to Minnesota, for example. These lower shipping costs have eliminated the higher prices that most American companies need to offer their Canadian customers. That’s the real key to our success,” says Murphy.
