The Laser Department

The ICN laser department assembles and tests the line of YAG and CO2 lasers sold by ICN. The Department prides itself on reliable and first rate customer service, and on the dependability of our end product. As Paul Conley testifies, “The lasers that we sell become the heart of the production environment and need to perform 24-7.  We pay attention to every detail so that our equipment will perform well in the field – because it is very important!  In the few cases where our customers reported a machinery problem, we have dropped everything we were doing to get them up and running.”

This commitment to our customers is mirrored by the commitment to the machines.  Our Cobalt 1000 laser system has been one of the most reliable and accurate laser machines in the market. Consequently, ICN can offer companies the most impressive laser capabilities.

Manager: Paul Conley

At ICN, Paul is an extremely important and versatile member of the management team. Like so many ICN employees, he tackles multiple tasks throughout a typical day. He is personally responsible for building and repairing all of our laser plate making systems.  Paul also constructs the printing fixtures for objects that we print in-house, or for customers who are struggling to find a fixture solution. Finally, Paul’s multiple responsibilities make him an important voice in our managerial decisions, especially regarding laser operations.

He attended the Minuteman Regional Technical High School (majored in HVAC) and Sacramento State College (majored in Water/Wastewater Treatment).  Paul has worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for many years. In his free time, Paul volunteers as a construction worker for educational facilities and enjoys playing hockey and volleyball.

The Art Department

ICN Artwork Department is focused on preparing the graphics – getting the best of the image – before transferring it onto engravable products or printing plates. The goal is to ensure impressions that meet or exceed customer’s expectations – and our experience and determination helps us succeed. We always allow ample time to work with the customers and find out their exact needs, which enables us to create quality custom etches.

This is exemplified in the inception of our new Remote Technical Support feature that has strengthened our understanding of what our customers want while decreasing time spent on issues. Customers can submit artwork and additional information to Derek, and expect to have a beautifully etched plate shipped to them within 3 days.

Manager: Derek LaChance

Derek manages all the artwork submitted, does customer demonstrations, produces customer samples and etching on the wide variety of lasers and inkjet systems that ICN sells. Derek has years of experience working with artwork software such as Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop etc.  This experience proves incredibly useful when assisting customers who are having trouble. Customers using our Remote Technical Support feature are most likely to learn through Derek

Derek is a native of Gloucester, MA.  He is a graduate of North Shore Technical Institute with a concentration in Graphic Design. Being a resident of the Greater Boston area, Derek has a love for the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. During his drive to and from work, he enjoys listening to the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

The Plate Department

Tyler aptly manages the flex-schedule and ensures that customers never run out of plates.

We encourage you to contact us to request plate samples and put our capabilities to the test!

Manager: AJ Hill

When customers order plates from us, they trust that each plate will be cut and punched to exactly the same specifications as the one before it. Tyler and his department are known for staying around well after the work day to complete late plate orders that customers desperately need. “I come from a hard working family, so I don’t know any other way of working,” he explains.

Tyler Rybicki has done an outstanding job ensuring this trust, which is why our customers continue to order from us.  Tyler is a native of Salem, MA where he attended Salem High School, and currently attends Salem State College as a marketing major.

The Pad Department

The Inkcups Now Pad Department is dedicated to producing the highest quality pad printing pads available in all shapes and sizes. Using meticulously accurate mixing proportions, our pad technicians can create hundreds of popular pads built to specific durometers (measures of hardness) from 40 to 80.  We can produce the pads in various specialty silicones, including our new revolutionary “Everflex” material with its durability, user friendliness, and attractive hot pink color. These silicone variations are designed by the Inkcups Pad Development Team to deliver crisp, high resolution images with superior wear characteristics. All pad bases, custom molding and manufacturing are done in house assuring that 2-3 days after an order has been received, the printing pad of the needed shape, material, durometer and pad base is shipped out the door.

Sean’s department works amazingly hard each day to produce and ship only the finest pads for our customers. Like Bob at the Plate Department, Sean monitors each order from submission to shipping to ensure that it is done right. He is a native of Hudson, NH so it is no surprise that he is a life-long Boston Red Sox fan. While he and his crew work to fulfill pad orders, Sean enjoys listening to the Dropkick Murphys.

With our own line of Italian-made ink, ICN is an industry leader in the distribution and support of ink products. We carefully test ink adhesion for customers who are looking to print on a plethora of different surfaces, by running each sample through a thorough scratch resistance test. We take extreme pride in our ability to successfully match all common international color specifications.  The ICN ink team is equipped with experienced professional technicians that can help customers choose the perfect ink for their job. Our technicians are also prepared to assist customers through ink mixing procedures involving thinners and hardeners, where there is little room for error.  We encourage you to put us to the test and call us for ink help!

Manager: Pete Baxer

Pete is a crucial member of the ICN team.  He specializes in ink testing, customer and sales support, and machine prep. Pete is a native of New Britain, CT. Before joining ICN, he worked as a production manager for a pad printing company in promotional and souvenir business. His first-hand knowledge of the industry makes him a useful resource when searching for pad printing solutions. Customers boast that he is “the most helpful ink tech in the industry because he is able to relate to our production environment and demands.” The word has gotten around and Pete is one of our busiest workers at ICN!
